This type of alteration is due to a deficiency in the absorption of Magnesium (Mg) by the plant. Generally, this means a yellowish discolouring of the plant in its old leaves. The problems by which the tree is unable to absorb the magnesium are mainly due to three reasons:

1. to the lack of this nutrient in the soil.


2. to a problem that blocks it due to the pH (in acid pH)


3. to any antagonism problem with some kind of nutrient, such as potassium.
